Awakening Heart
The heart centre – Gateway to divine love, and inner self realisation!

The spiritual heart is located in the centre of the chest, or what is called the lumbar area, or in yogic teachings the Anahata. It is symbolised by the colour green, and it is the seat of devotion, divine love, and inner communion with the God within you! It is not only a vital spiritual gateway, but where our true essence our soul expresses its deepest longing for union with the divine.
The heart centre is the throne of the soul where it resides within us, where the human and the divine meet. It is through an awakened heart that we experience not just emotion, but the vibration of divine love which is unconditional, unchanging and eternal in its nature.
To walk the spiritual path effectively, we need to cultivate a practice to go within like the Kriya Yoga meditation I offer, and the main ingredient within this is devotion, and the heart centre is the home of devotion. This is the place within us we feel the yearning for God, where we pray from, and where we feel peace within us, which is one of the earliest signs that you are in the presence of God within you, and then a beautiful presence of joy within the heart is felt.
When we learn true prayer and meditation this begins in the heart centre, not in the mind! Of course in meditation the mind may wonder but when you are awakening the heart this anchors us in sincerity and love.
Our spiritual heart must be opened and eventually purified! However to purify our heart we must meet our emotional wounds that cloud our true divine selves, attachments, fears, and the negative ego mind. Therefore we must clear the heart of our restless nature, our selfishness and pride. We then cultivate the ability to receive love along with empathy, kindness and gratitude. This leads us onto enabling us to forgive ourselves and others, releasing past trauma, and helps us to form healthy loving relationships. This is achieved through regular scientific meditation techniques, forgiveness and compassion, deep introspection and surrender, selfless love in service to others, plus other intervention techniques and therapy that may assist you alongside your spiritual practice.
We have 7 main energy centres within our bodies, and the heart portal lies at the centre of them. The bottom 3 is where mainly 95% of the population’s attention resides, which has to do with survival, power, greed, lust, and desire. However the higher 3 energy centres above the heart are to do with wisdom, intuition, and spiritual communion. Therefore the heart centre is the bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. We then must purify our heart centre, this energy rises up towards the higher energy centres, which helps us to meditate more deeply, which in turn expands our consciousness.
All of our problems and suffering within the world comes from a disconnection to knowing and understanding our true divine nature and feeling that connection, that divine love within us! Thus the purification of the heart centre enables us to have that experience, feeling that divine love in a higher state of presence, so in effect we a reverting back to what we really are beyond the human form! When we meditate we must offer devotion from the heart, to yearn deeply for the presence of the divine within us, to call inwardly, ‘ask and thy shall be given’. Therefore when the heart and mind are still in a meditative state, the breath is calm, we can feel the presence of the divine as an inner glow of peace and bliss, a love that is beyond any human emotion!
“The hearts natural love is the magnet that attracts God within. Cultivate that love through meditation, and you will feel the divine presence ever more deeply within you”
FIVE STATES OF THE HEART
from dark to pure
There are according to ancient yogic wisdom taught by the great masters 5 states of the heart we all encounter on our journey through many lifetimes from a dark heart to eventually the pure enlightened heart! I will best describe these states, which will give you an indication of where you currently are or transiting from one to another, in which you will show characteristics of both states as you gradually move across to that higher state of awareness within the heart. We are all here for the transformation of the heart centre, which reflects the awakening within us of divine perceptions, as our soul purifies itself and ascends through higher levels of awareness.
The dark heart
This state unfortunately is where the majority of the planet currently resides! This is what we call the unenlightened state, where man conceives he is the human form and over identifies with the personality and the separate self. The heart in this state is clouded with ignorance, materialism, and ego centred desires. Also these people think that this material portion of creation is the only real substance and there is nothing besides this, as they believe in a specific aspect of science that tells them so! These people want outside proof of the existence of a higher divine power, and through ignorance and disbelief they become lazy in wanting to explore their inner world, as they are to busy surviving, accumulating, and feeding their desires.
The main characteristics of this state of being are; fear, selfishness, apathy, desire, greed, material attachment.
The Propelled heart
Within this state humans start to awaken through various means and experiences, usually quite challenging. What happens then is the struggle for truth of who one is, why am I here?, how does the universe work?, what happens when I die? So the human looks for various teachers, guides, mystics, maybe a guru to develop faith. Then one gravitates to be around other like minded people, happier in conscious community, eating higher vibrational food, studying conscious writing and ancient holy texts, learning to go within through various practices, understanding how our energetic bodies work, and learning meditation and yoga etc, and even learning it to facilitate it to inspire and teach other souls.
One is propelled to learn the true nature of the universe and your relationship to it. This is an unstoppable force within you to clear your doubts of who you think you are, and what usually arises
is a newfound warrior spirit within you that propels you to seek the evidence for yourself, to determine what is truth!
The main characteristics within this state are; passion, determination and will, dissatisfaction, truth seeker, pilgrim.
The steady heart
This stage of a steady heart is the beginning of a true spiritual awakening. The human in this state becomes twice born, a re-birth into the comprehension of the second portion of material creation, that of the finer more subtle electrical forces around and within us.
The heart becomes more pure, calm and receptive through spiritual discipline in seeking the god within, cultivating selfless love, compassion, longing for the divine to rise within you! Within this state the person seeks truth, harmony and peace., not for your ego but for your soul! One’s heart abandons the idea of the external world as but a dream, and becomes devoted to the internal one!
All of the above is supported through spiritual discipline, the science of meditation and moral living. Through your inner efforts, you become aware of the presence of God through inner silence, and thus you feel the inner peace, love and bliss flowering in your heart, and you begin to live in your everyday life in alignment with divine laws.
The main characteristics of the steady heart state are; Devotion, introspection, compassion, clarity, warrior spirit, faith.
The devoted heart
Within this exalted state, the heart is filled with divine love, and the yearning to be in the presence of the divine in every minute of your life is coming into reality. You see and witness all of creation as the dream of God, and see there is nothing but the hand of God everywhere and in everything!
You now want to be in union with God in all of your thoughts and actions, this yearning is now so strong that every action you do, you do for God, it is a continuing offering! This state is very difficult for people to comprehend, as the intellect cannot grasp this state of experience. You are now not striving for anything, little or any physical and psychological desires outside of yourself, you just are surrendering into love, with your ultimate lover!
The feeling of devotional love for God as your ultimate beloved builds step by step, as you learn to walk the razors edge of life, learning to balance on that fine edge between being in this three dimensional, five sense reality, and your consciousness within a higher plane, becoming a more of an open conduit for God’s love, wisdom and grace to pour through you!
You fully know now the nature of the delusion, and all ignorance of the attachments to your ego self, and this reality starts to dissolve, as you learn self mastery.
The main characteristics of the devoted heart are; Deep devotion, bliss, humility, grace, selflessness, compassion.
The pure or clean heart
This is the highest state one attains within the human body suit, and you (the soul) become fully united with the divine.
You now have achieved true repentance, and the illusion of separateness has dissolved, as you enter at will the great world beyond, and attain a clean heart.
This state is where you know God (Brahma) void al all external ideas, desires, attachments. You become at one with the spiritual light that is the basis of the universe, the last and everlasting spiritual portion of the universe.
This state is what is called self realisation, enlightenment or liberation, being at one with the great self, Spirit, Brahma, God, The Divine, Ishvara, Divine Mother/Father, Ram, Jehovah, Waheguru, Allah, Elohim, Shiva, so many many names for the god self throughout this planet and the universe!
Once you attain this state you are completely free of karma within this reality, plus ego and fear! You radiate divine light, and become a pure vessel for Gods love and wisdom to flow through you, not identifying no longer with the human body!
